I finally got GREAT sleep last night because I stopped taking my pain med (Xartemis) and slept solidly all night. It was making me really loopy; I would fall asleep and then pop back awake and it wasn't doing anything for the pain. I switched to 4 Ibuprofen, every 6 hours starting yesterday evening and that helped the pain tremendously.
This morning I went to see Dr. Mosier and he cut off my tube top which was so great. He removed the gauze over my incisions and I think pulled out a stitch or 2. It was hard to see from where I was sitting with no mirror. He fitted me into a bra, a 32D (GOOD LORD) that my mom had brought along. Since I have no idea what my real size will be since I'm pretty swollen, my mom loaned me one of hers that she doesn't wear anymore. I will buy a nice, new, pretty one in a few weeks when the swelling subsides. I have to wear this bra for an entire week, all day, EVERYDAY! I am not happy about that part for many reasons. Mostly because I just want my new girls to be free and I've always hated wearing bras so it's been so nice to be mostly bra free for the past 10 weeks. I know women wear bras everyday so I shouldn't be such a complainer, but I also don't like this because it doesn't seem to be a perfect fit for me and it's plain, nude brown (no offense mom!) and does NOT make me feel sexy or cute at all. Mom and I even joked on the way out to the car that Dr. Mosier was probably rolling his eyes when she pulled out 3 NUDE bras to choose from, LOL! Can you say "granola?!"
Mom brought me back home and my co worker Cherry came over and took me to lunch since my car is still in the shop. It was so nice to see her because this year has been so crazy since school started and we never get to stop and just chat each other up. Luckily she took a 1/2 day on a day when I was off too! We went to Maudie's and I dove into my enchilada lunch plate...oink oink! It was so great to chat with her but we definitely had to talk in fast forward to get it all in. Then I got home and my bestie Alecia came over to drop off my ACL wristband...EEK! I canNOT wait! We visited for about 2 hours which was so great, as we've both been so busy lately that we've not spent near enough time together. Chris, the guy I work part time for, came over too, to show me some work I could do from home which kept me busy the rest of they day. I'm not complaining though because I can always use more spending $ and he brought wine...SCORE!
After 3 hours of working on my laptop I decided take a break and to go take a shower since I was cleared for one today and probably needed one. I love baths so the shower already made me feel a bit grumpy but I decided to take what I could get. It did not turn out so well. I could barely reach to wash my hair because the stitches under my skin were pulling and not so fun. 5 minutes later and I was out of the shower, mumbling to myself how much FUN that was....NOT! That bra was just sitting there on the counter, staring at me the whole time, willing me to put it back on. Brushing my hair was quite the obstacle too. At least my mom will be here in the morning and she can put me back together and make me look presentable! ;)
I haven't been the happiest camper this evening even though today had plenty of good in it. I'm just feeling a little grumpy, and I know things could be a lot worse, but today I want to just be. I think it's about time to crawl into bed and try again tomorrow!
And now a funny...
