Now getting dressed was something I was totally unprepared for. I came out of surgery with 2 gauze dressings on both breasts and a medical tube top dress that goes from my boobs down to mid thigh. It is a compression dressing to help with the swelling from the liposuction. Because of that, I was unable to put pants on but luckily I had packed my button up night gown shirt and we put that on over the tube dress, slapped on my boots and off we went to the car...well I was in a wheel chair.
The soreness from the bruising started immediately. I can't comment on my nipple pain because a). I didn't have much feeling there to begin with and b). the amount of pain and soreness from the liposuction trumps any other pain I could possibly be feeling! I spent most of Friday napping and resting. Saturday I got up and mom and I ran a few errands. I had no idea what to wear but found a long sun dress that covered up everything. We made a quick stop at Target where we found a snug black skirt that fits perfectly over the tube dress so I wore that the rest of the day. Both nights I slept like crap because I was up peeing every 5 minutes and every time I moved I'd hit one of my bruises and about keel over in pain. It's been exhausting to say the least.
Well today I got brave and rolled up my tube dress to see what kind of bruising I actually had because while I could feel my soreness and imagined what the bruises might look like, I was in for a real shock! I have 2 HUGE bruises on each of my outer thighs that look like a bowling ball smacked me. My left leg is much more bruised than my right as the bruising runs all the way from my waist down to almost my kneee. It looks terrible and feels even worse. Ice packs help! I also have 2 huge bruises that run up my back from where Dr. Mosier did lipo on my "flanks," aka my little love handles. I don't guess he got much from there as they are the least bruised.
Tomorrow I go in for my follow up and he will cut off this tube dress, fit me into my Spanx and hopefully I get to see my new nipples. I think I will also be cleared to take a bath/shower after tomorrow, thank gawd! I have to wear the Spanx for about 2 weeks which I am really dreading. I plan to get some pics of the bruising and nipples in the next day or 2 and will post those in the photo gallery. Beware though, the bruising is not for the faint of heart.
I am off my pain meds and muscle relaxers and only taking Tylenol and Arnica. I hate pain meds for many reasons. I am foggy enough as it is from the anesthesia; I don't need any additional help from pain meds!
I will post again tomorrow after my follow up and hopefully have some pictures to add by then. Here's hoping the bruising and swelling calm down a bit with all of this ice pack love they are getting!
